What is Sola Shringar?

Sola shringar refers to the sixteen traditional adornments of an Indian bride, such as sindoor, bindi, kajal, bangles, anklets and mehendi. Henna on the hands and feet is one of the most important of these adornments.

Sola Shringar explained

The exact list varies by region and family, but mehendi appears in almost every version. Married women also observe sola shringar on festivals such as Karva Chauth and Teej.

This tradition is why feet mehendi and alta remain an important part of bridal looks in many communities.
